The Washington County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 7th Annual Public Safety Awards on June 8, 2023 at the Community Fire Company in Fairplay.

Local heroes in Hagerstown and Washington County received awards. The ceremony recognized first responders in fire, police, emergency telecommunications and EMS departments.

Our own Team 13 members were among the recipients.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Dave Baer in honor of his dedicated service since 1971.  Dave was unable to attend, but Deputy Chief Ridenour accepted the award for him.

The Volunteer Achievement Award was presented to Deputy Chief Phil Ridenour in honor of his dedicated service since 1975.

CJ Rinehart was the recipient of the Good Samaritan Award for assisting a Washington County Sheriff with an aggressive, intoxicated driver in January.

Team 13 would like to congratulate all the award recipients and say thank you for your dedication to helping make Washington County a safer place.
