After a long day in the Ville on September 1, at 2:40am Company 16 was alerted to a crash on I-70East bound.  Squad 13 was clearing a box alarm in Funkstown and was added to the call.  The squad arrived on scene along  with Lt 16, Engine 161 and Squad 10. Crews stabilized the vehicle and the trooper.  Squad 13  crew removed the drivers door and took the trooper to the medic crew for evaluation before being flown by Trooper 5. The squad remained on scene for several hours to provide lighting during the investigation.
