Team 13 recently received a grant from the Hagerstown Rotary Charitable Foundation in the amount of $1700 to purchase 2 “safety plugs.”  These devices plug into the charging port of an electric vehicle or a hybrid car.  As soon as the device is plugged in, the vehicle automatically goes into park or neutral thus making it safe for our responders to work around the vehicle without fear of it moving.  Team 13 members trained on these plugs this week and are now carrying one on the Rescue Squad and on the first due Engine.  We would like to extend a big thank you to the Hagerstown Rotary for awarding us this grant.
