New Rescue Squad Cab and Chassis arrives at station.
The Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company embarked on a journey starting back in 2017 to find a suitable replacement for the company’s 1999 Pierce Saber Rescue Squad. A Squad is a speciality piece of fire apparatus that carries tools and equipment used in rescues such as automobile accidents, water rescues, specialized rescues such as farming accidents. Firefighters must take special training to learn and master the skills needed to use such equipment. The new squad will carry more modern equipment to enable us to help our community’s citizens even more. The apparatus committee for the fire company worked hard over the last 3 years and finally part 1 of they’re hard work arrived at our station.
Purchase of apparatus is not an easy task as cost , equipment needs , company finances all must be examined. During the process members of the apparatus committee reached out to Baltimore Mack and was given a deal on the cab and chassis that helped us seal the deal.
The purchase of the apparatus was approved by membership after recommendations from both the apparatus and finance committee. Our new Rescue Squad was purchased in June of 2019 from Baltimore Mack with original expected delivery in Oct 2020. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, delivery of the chassis was delayed until March 2021. The chassis will travel to 4-Guys to have the squad body installed with expected completion of November “
